Pole dancers pull out all the stops for South American championship performances

  • An open air exhibition of pole dancing captured passers-by in one of the main streets of Buenos Aires, as men and women from all over the continent competed in the final of the seventh edition of the South American Pole Dancing Championships on Monday (November 24).nnFor many of those taking part, the public nature of the competition is important in promoting the dance as a serious and rigourous sport, rather than an underground performance associated with clubs and striptease.nnIndeed the sport is taken very seriously by all those involved, competing across several categories for men, women, pairs as well as elite and amateur practitioners.nnThe champions of the South American competition will compete in the World Championships in Hong Kong early next year.nnArgentine Florencia Bustos took the top prize in the female elite category.nn"I am very happy to be able to represent Argentina in this sport that I love, I really love this. I have been doing this for seven years now and to have the opportunity to travel representing Argentina is an absolute dream and I am very happy," she said.nnFor more news and videos visit ☛ ntdtv.tvnFollow us on Twitter ☛ twitter.com/NTDTelevisionnAdd us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me/s5KV2C
